Yes, although you can get an exemption to list products, it is recommended to use UPC or any other barcode that is according to your country/marketplace of choice, another thing is GCID that you can get when you get your brand register although it is certainly unknown how to get it exactly.

yes, there is no connection between UPC or brand registry, you can ask for GTIN exemption but it is recommended to buy a UPC from An Amazon recommended website like GS1 to list your products on Amazon

There is no connection between UPCs and brand registries, but it is recommended that you buy a UPC from a website recommended by Amazon, such as GS1.

No, if you have a brand registered with Amazon, you do not need a UPC to make a product listing. Instead, you can use a unique identifier called a GTIN exemption.
-
There is no restriction for UPC that you should be brand registered or not, but if you are brand registered seller then you have an option to go without UPC, then you can apply for GTIN exemption.

If you have an exemption in a required category, there is no need for UPC, whether you are brand registered or not.

It is suggested and preferred that you should go for UPC but if you don’t have to buy UPC then you can take GTIN exemption as well.
