Yes , in some cases amazon requires the approval for the particular category. but sometimes it does not need any approval so, its totally depends on amazon.

Hi Kallis, If the main category is not gated, you only need approval for the sub-category.
-
Better would be to take the approval of the main category which require less effort and then you don’t need to take the approval of sub categories individually.

Yes, when it is required to take approval for a certain category then you’ll need to do it, otherwise, you won’t be able to sell in it.
-
If you get the approval for main category but Amazon require to ungate your subcategory then you need to get ungated sub category as well.
-
If you want to sell on the sub categroy which is gated then you have to take approval for that sub category to sell in it.
-
The main category does not have to be gated to be approved, only the subcategories do.

If the main category is not gated but some of the subcategories are gated, you only need approval for the gated subcategories in order to sell products in those categories. You do not need approval for the main category.

If the Main category is not gated then the sub-categories will also be ungated because you only need approval once and if at the time of listing the category is not gated then you don’t need the approval of any sub-categories.
